I will never forget the first time I met Larry Sparks. He came to my 6th grade choir class at Bulverde Middle school with his auto harp. I thought he looked and sounded like a Grand 'ol Opry star. I was fascinated.

I also remember his stories in his darkened office. It was like a special sort of cave and a safe haven for us out of the mainstream types.

I was so proud to march in his band. I always felt we were lucky to have such a gifted teacher; we were.

I am proud to be a part of the Sparks legacy. Larry was a phenomenal teacher, brother and friend. God Bless!
